Independent developer of firm and variable generation, energy storage, and renewable fuel projects on Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi Island, and Kauaʻi.
Undersea power transmission does not exist in Hawaiʻi, so each island operates as an isolated grid. Each island's weather, population, land constraints, and varied terrain set different conditions for meeting the demand; suitable sites are scarce, and the ones that do exist often put generation far from the load. That demand is met with a mix of firm and variable generation and with energy storage, paired or stand-alone.
HAWAIʻI LAND & POWER develops projects that contribute toward meeting each island's demand requirements while advancing the State's 2045 Renewable Portfolio Standard. Every project starts with securing site control, on sites selected for zoning, land-use entitlements, interconnection route and distance, view planes, and early engagement of the community in which the facility will be located.
